Summary:
Solicits and maintains favorable contacts with current and potential new key accounts. Develops sales of products and/or services by researching and resolving commercial customer problems and recommending modifications to the product/service line. Solicits orders for services and upsells expanded services through telephone contact.
Responsibilities:
• Works to achieve commercial sales and operational objectives by generating sales leads.
• Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management.
• Develops and cultivates existing and potential new commercial business customers. Develops lists of commercial customer prospects from city and telephone directories, trade and professional association membership lists, and other public records.
• Enunciates prepared script on telephone to potential customers in order to generate leads.
• Records names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects solicited.
• Communicates directly with new and existing customers to explain features of services offered. Answers customer questions regarding products and services. Handles customer complaints.
• Calculates and quotes prices for services during the negotiation of the commercial customer sale; Closes sales transactions by taking the sales order and completing estimate forms and all other required documents to record the commercial sale.
• May Investigate product or service warranty claims to ensure resolution.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires general knowledge of the organization, products, and/or services.
