Position Overview

The Director of Enterprise Information Management is responsible for developing and implementing a road map for a centralized enterprise data hub (including MDM, EDW, ETL, BI & Advanced Analytics), strategy and oversight of the architecture for all data based interfaces, building and sustaining all data platforms.  Provides expertise and collaborates with stakeholders from the marketing, finance, HR, Legal and sales organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop and lead the implementation of best practices for enterprise information management, including data quality rules, categorization, classification and produce the associated artifacts.
  • Responsible for EDW data quality (Unit testing, Integration testing, automated reconciliations, User Acceptance etc.), standardization, and automation.
  • Create a foundation for advanced analytics including data modeling, architecture, and enterprise data governance across the organization.
  • Manage and ensure proper system design, implementation and documentation.
  • Define a set of standard technologies and tools, on-prem and on cloud, including: Data Lake, Data Streaming, DQ, and Master Data Management suite of tools, including platform support of the enterprise data solution.
  • Build a knowledge base for the enterprise-wide data flows and processes around them.
  • Responsible for architecture, engineering and delivery of variety of IT services and platforms on premises and in the cloud.
  • Approve, coordinate, and execute upon adjustments and changes that increase performance and availability.
  • Manage and build in-house technical skills around various analytical tools and reporting platforms.
  • Design systems to analyze and test data, measure data quality issues across multiple data domains, and drive business processes changes to ensure root cause remediation actions taken.
  • Ensure that business reports and metrics derived from controlled data are consistent and representative of the true state of the business.
  • Manages day to day budget expenses, vendor relationships and SOW scope.
  • Leads, manages, coaches and mentors the resources of the business intelligence group to execute business plans and develop processes designed to achieve the company’s business intelligence vision to include leading the Executive BI Steering Committee.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Master’s Degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience in architecture, design and implementation of enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence solutions required
  • 3+ years of supervisory/management experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of data warehousing operations and strategies
  • Advanced knowledge of business intelligence software and tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlikview, Microsoft SSRS)
  • Advanced knowledge of data governance, ETL, data architecture, data quality security, and modeling practices
  • Working experience with cloud technologies and solid understanding of data lakes, data streaming and event driven designs.
  • Executive presence, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including developing and delivering formal presentations
  • Organizational, project and process management and leadership skills
  • Business process analysis skills
  • Attention to detail and quantitative analytical skills
  • Ability to foster collaboration
  • Advanced planning and project management skills
  • Leadership and management skills to coach and develop a team of professionals
