Job Description


  • Leads technical and operational planning for the IT security team.
  • Liaisons with production and corporate infrastructure leadership; ensures that team priorities are properly aligned to business need and risk level.
  • Reviews and implements Enterprise Security Standards, Corporate Security Policies, and assists in creating training/associate awareness material.
  • Develops and implements strategies to reduce risk and vulnerabilities.
  • Stays informed about latest threats and vulnerabilities; communicates potential risks.
  • Develops business justifications and cost benefit analysis for IT spend.
  • Identifies opportunities that will improve our current operational technologies as well as provides a higher level of visibility into issues or incidents.
  • Assists project managers in creating tasks, assigning dependencies and documenting risks; assigns applicable project tasks to appropriate team members.
  • Reports weekly status to management for ongoing projects and initiatives.
  • Provides department leadership with quarterly and annual reports to maintain compliance and operational oversight to leadership.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in science, math, engineering or technology with applied experience required and 8+ years experience in information security as an individual contributor or technical leader required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer software engineering preferred
  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification preferred
  • Experience implementing/managing security technologies (IE: McAfee IPS, McAfee SIEM, McAfee Web Security, Cisco Firewalls, Microsoft O365 Security, etc.) 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, technologies, architecture and resources
  • Knowledge of IT networking equipment and protocols (Checkpoint and/or Cisco)
  • Ability to configure and manage security-centric technologies
  • Ability to oversee issues to resolution
  • Knowledge of company products and services

  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
