Position Overview

Partners with diverse groups across the company to analytically support sales operations. Manages cross functional peer groups and complex project initiatives to accomplish the development and delivery of data analytics and reporting solutions. Analyzes and interprets ongoing sales data and develops actionable data reporting as well as implements new key performance indicators (KPIs). Is responsible for aligning business operations and reporting tools across cross functional groups (including sales, customer service, operations, and IT), gathering and documenting requirements, performing data analysis and presenting solutions to management while staying current on all strategic business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Is a subject matter expert on products, services and prices as well as understanding of sales reporting systems, processes and data outputs.
  • Serves as sales process and analytics expert including supported business processes and multiple data systems.
  • Manages regular and ad hoc sales analysis and reporting, translating data into actionable insights and communication of results.
  • Engages cross functional peer group to integrate, interpret, analyze and trend sales data from multiple sources and ensures cleanliness, accuracy and completeness via automated and manual processes.
  • Works with IT resources to configure company operating systems to align products with pricing and assist with reporting.
  • Partners with cross functional IT business partners to structure and maintain sales data within data warehouse systems.

  • Partners with cross functional IT business partners to create and manage data models for advanced analytics.

  • Translates and use  large complex data sources that needs to be blended and joined to deliver effective and efficient data insights.

  • Proactively monitors business trends, including volume, price, mix analysis, and provides updates to sales leadership.
  • Researches competitor products, services, and prices; presents results/analysis to sales leadership.
  • Assists in the preparation of cyclical reports and monthly close activities including annual business plan, monthly forecasts & variance analysis, quarterly re-estimates and rolling forecasts.
  • Manages all aspects of sales reporting in Tableau and leads cross functional peer level teams (IT / Finance/ BI) in ensuring data is accurate, integrated, and accessible across the company

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics or other quantitative field required
  • 2-4 years of experience performing data management, analysis and developing actionable data reports preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience with data trend analysis and forecasting sales preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training may be considered

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of data management and reporting practices including data modeling, database design & development and data mining techniques
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, analyzing and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills including Mathematical skill to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, area and volume
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Time management skills, including skill in prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple tasks
  • Written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills to work in cross-functional settings
  • Skill in managing multiple large data sets across multiple computer systems
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint); advanced skill in Excel;
  • Proficiency with SQL, SSMS, and Tableau required (advanced SQL and Tableau preferred)
